The ideas encompassing my paintings come from the memories of being on a train. I remembered riding trains in D.C since I was little and I was always fond of their transitions and how they changed over time. Whereas when I got older, I created more memories being on New York's MTA and Philadelphia's Septa. Each painting has a symbolic feature that creates a personal attachment to me, in a way the objects take on a personification of my narrative.
The overall content of my work comes from an emotional connection between me and the train and how it plays the most important role for me while growing up. Moments, when the public transportation played a part in my life, was when I was maneuvering back and forth from school, working for Michael's, attending college in New York or visiting my closest friend, but at the end of the day, it got me wherever I needed to go. The results of creating these moments in my work show the lack of people, by which I allowed the viewers to also share their memorable experiences within themselves just as I have.
